The graduation ceremony of the Bachelor's graduates of the Department of Biotechnology will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020, starting at 11.00 in the Hall O-030 on the ground floor of the University Department Building, Radmile Matejčić 2.

The graduation ceremony for Master's graduates of the Department of Biotechnology will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 starting at 1:00 pm in the O-030 Hall on the ground floor of the University Department Building on University Campus, 2 Radmile Matejcic Street.

24th Young Neuroscientist Meeting

The 24th Young Neuroscientist Meeting (YNM) will be held in Rijeka on 24-25 June 2020 at the Department of Biotechnology, University of Rijeka. YNM is a long-standing annual tradition, allowing neuroscience students from cities throughout the region, including Rijeka, Trieste, Belgrade, Ljubljana, Maribor and Zagreb, to meet and network with each other, as well as gain experience at presenting in an international environment. In 2020, Rijeka is the European Capital of Culture, while Trieste is hosting the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF). In celebration of this, the 24th edition of the YNM will consist of a two-day event, hosted by the University of Rijeka, Department of Biotechnology.

Open Day of the Department of Biotechnology

The Open Day of the Department of Biotechnology 2020 will be held on Tuesday, 21 April 2020 from 10am to 7pm at the University Department Building, Radmile Matejčić 2, Trsat Campus (1st to 3rd floors). As part of the Festival of Science, our Open Day is a science popularization event in which the staff and students of the Department of Biotechnology try to promote science to a wide audience of all ages in an interesting and interactive way.

Best oral presentation reward

Ivana Bertović, PhD student in Laboratory of Hematopoiesis, Department of Biotechnology has won an award for the best oral presentation of the research of Croatian Science Foundation project, titled  "Membrane traffic modulating lipid PI3P regulates platelet production" at the 1st UK-Italian Platelet Meeting held in Bath, UK (7th-8th September, 2017).
