A visit from the Italian delegation from the Science and Technology park of Sicily

Italian delegation from the Science and Technology park of Sicily headed by the Italian general consul Paolo Palminteri, park director Roberto d'Agostino and INARCH president Ignazio Lutri has visited the Department of Biotechnology, Center for highthroughput technologies, as a part of their visit to Rijeka's major and the University of Rijeka.
Elettra - Sincrotrone Trieste visit

First year "Drug research and development" and "Biotechnology in medicine" master students will, under the supervision of doc.dr.sc. Mirela Sedić, visit the international research centre Elettra - Sincrotrone Trieste as a part of graduate classes "IRL103 Methods in protein research", "BUM101 Systems medicine" and "BUM102 Nanomedicine". International conference

International conference "Personalized medicine: Determination of normative criteria in law and economy in the light of new knowledge" will take place in Rijeka and Opatija on the 13th and 14th November, 2015. Conference program can be found here.
Prof. dr. sc. Anđelka Radojčić Badovinac is the new head of the Department of Biotechnology

The head's function has started on 15th July 2015. As deputy head, on the proposal of the new head, former head prof. dr. sc. Krešimir Pavelić, who will also excersise the function of University Senat member, has been elected.

The European social fund project, a part of the Research scolarship for professional development of young researchers and postdocs, has been granted. "Host miRNA role in herpes simplex virus replication", project leader: doc.dr.sc. Ivana Ratkaj. Total grant: 1.072.912,53 HRK.
Croatian science foundation Partnernship in research project has been granted. "Modulators of catalytic mechanisms of gama-secretase as new potential drugs for Alzheimer's disease", project leader: doc.dr.sc. Željko Svedružić. Total grant: 606 588,00 HRK.
Croatian science foundation project has been granted. "The role of phosphoinositides in trombocite formation", leader: doc. dr. sc. Antonija Jurak Begonja. Total grant: 999.812,43 HRK
